Also featuring:

Janice HedinJanice Hedin - Janice continues to be one of the strongest voices to defend and champion the rights of homeschoolers in Washington. She actively worked with the grassroots movement to get our homeschool law passed in 1985; then went on to homeschool her children all the way to college and careers.  Her passion is to build confidence in parents who will hand down the gift of homeschooling to the next generation.

Paula Harper ChristensenPaula Harper-Christensen - Paula is a lifelong advocate for children who truly believed homeschooling was the best option for her four children.  After lobbying for the homeschool law in the early 80s, she enjoyed decades of homeschool freedom in Washington State.   Paula is proud to have been a part of the early movement to legalize homeschooling and now continues the legacy as she helps teach her precious grandchildren, the next generation.

Schedule of Events:

6:00 - 6:45 - Light Refreshments

7:00 - 7:15 - Introductions

7:15-7:45 - 50 COLLECTIVE YEARS OF HOMESCHOOL WISDOM - Leaving a Legacy......
by Janice Hedin and Paula Harper-Christensen

7:45 - 8:45 - John Taylor Gatto - Take Back your Education – The essential moving parts of an education are quite different from those required by a school.  As formal schooling has evolved, the typical classroom is structurally unable to provide an education.  Concentration, imagination, association, expression, organization, information, and similar qualities are the targets to aim for, not the memorization of “right” answers.
