On Socialization.
This used to happen all the time:
I’d be somewhere with my 8 (or 10 or 12 or 14 or 16yo). She would have a 20 minute conversation with an adult on some topic of mutual interest. She’d wander off, and the adult would look at me and say, “But what about socialization?”
Me, sputtering, “You just had nearly a half hour conversation with the kidlet — what do you feel she’s missing?”
Them: “Um . . .”
