I began homeschooling my children when my oldest was starting to have issues in kindergarten. Our homeschool journey has evolved over the course of 15+ years with 7 children of various special needs. Homeschooling has allowed me to learn to advocate, seek, and learn what would help each child at specific times in their lives. I helped reinvigorate and create a few homeschool groups in the Tri Cities area and am excited to see the outgrowth from those experiences. As my children have grown, I have realized a side of me that homeschooling my children helped illuminate. I love teaching about the different educational opportunities our state has to offer, advocating for parent and family choices, and creating community for families. All of this has lead to my becoming a certified life coach. In my spare time, I love to play board games with my family and lie in bed reading a book.
