Email of the Day:
My kids have lost focus. It’s a battle to get them to sit down and do their math worksheets. I’m at my wit’s end. What do I do?
Answer:
Math is good. Let’s do some:
There are 8,760 hours in a year.
You spend about 2,920 of them sleeping.
That leaves 5,840 hours to homeschool.
By state law, you only have to do 1,000 hours (in the schools, they do 5.5 hours a day for 180 days to get that 1,000 hours).
If what you’re doing today isn’t working: Stop.
Go play in the sunshine. Wear sunscreen.
Or don’t, and then do a unit on sunburns.
Get dirty. Do a unit on which stain removal products work.
There’s 5,832 hours left to do that stupid math worksheet.
