Salish Sea Expeditions
is once again offering their popular 3-day/2-night marine science and maritime experience adventures in April for any 5th-12th grade student from any school
These programs allow individual students from any school to experience the same adventure in science and sailing designed for whole classrooms.
Salish Sea Expedition programs have been delivering programs for 20 years which provide classrooms of students the opportunity to experience hands-on learning of science and sailing concepts while on the waters of Puget Sound. It has since become a premier program allowing students to experience the land and waters of one of the most amazing estuarine systems in the world which we call the Salish Sea.
During these programs students will investigate the marine waters using a variety of science equipment to collect, test and examine the water. They will peer into the microscopic world of plankton and ponder the changing chemistry of our oceans.
Students will also learn skills for navigating a sailboat and be provided the challenge to chart a course and operate the boat. These are experiences which have opened minds and opened doors and even shaped career pathways along the way. Encourage a student to share the journey this spring.

Quilting Classes – FREE
In an effort to encourage some of your students to learn to quilt, I would like to offer a free 6 week quilt course to any of your students that are interested. We will concentrate on making a nine-patch quilt for their twin bed or a lap size quilt for the couch. This class will be geared for students between the ages of 12-18 with some basic sewing machine knowledge. Sewing machine basics can be taught in a separate class prior to the quilting class.
Students will need fabric and supplies (buy or bring from home). Students will receive a 30% off fabric or supplies bought at my store for class.
Quilting is a wonderful art and can be a very useful skill. A quilter uses math, learns color effect, sewing equipment use and much more! Classes will be held at Mary’s Quilt and Fabric in Snohomish, Washington. The time and date of classes will be determined by the students schedules. Please have any interested group contact me.

Community Service Opportunity with Horses
We are a non-profit charity 501c3 organization whose sole purpose is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned or neglected horses in the King county area, ultimately adopting these amazing animals into forever loving homes.
We are in need of horse loving volunteers interested helping us care for the horses daily needs. I wanted to present this opportunity to your organization as you may have some high school students in need of community service hours from a qualified charity. I hope you are able to pass this onto the person in charge of listing these types of opportunities.
