Graduation Requirements

Email of the Day:

I understand that the public school requirements are changing to graduation for the 2021 class. what has/is has changed for Homeschoolers?

Answer:

Not a thing.
Been the same for 32 years.
Cover the 11 subjects over the course of your homeschooling.

(The 11 Subjects are: reading, writing, spelling, language, math, science, social studies, history, health, occupational education, and art and music appreciation.)

The law gives homeschoolers no further guidance on what to do with the 11 subjects.

What you require for graduation is up to you.
We required out kid build a small house to completion.
(You do not have to do this).
(That was just us. We’re weird).

Take a look here.

Look at “How to Homeschool Highschool” and “A Homeschooler’s Guide to HS Grades” especially.

Are you coming to Convention?
Lee Binz, the HomeScholar, will be there (you’ll see her in the second video I recommended) and she’s doing workshops on transcripts this year.

Warmly,
~Jen
