Washington 4-H International Exchange

4-h-logoWhat are you planning for this summer?

Washington 4-H International Exchange is hosting youth delegates from Japan and South Korea this summer. We’re looking for families that would like to gain a global perspective by sharing their home with an international delegate. The host family commitment is July 22 – August 17. No special activities are required or expected during the homestay, just a real Washington family experience for all. These are great kids from families much like yours. They’re excited to make friends, learn about Washington, practice their English, and be a part of your family for 4 weeks this summer. Delegates range in age from 12 to 17 and host families need to have a designated “host sibling” within 3-4 years and of the same gender as the delegate. Host families provide meals and a bed for the delegate, a separate bedroom is not required. Screening of new host families includes background checks for all family members over 18 who will be in the home during the exchange period. The current list of delegates needing host families and some answers to host family questions can be found here, http://extension.wsu.edu/4h/youth/global-4-h/international-exchanges . Now is the best time to submit your family hosting application at www.states4hexchange.org  and get ready for a memory-making summer cultural exchange.
