ComedySportz Seattle High School & Homeschool League

Do you want to learn how to be funny? Want to find a way to improve your acting skills? Or are you just looking for something fun and different to do this year? Well join CSz Seattle – Home of ComedySportz® this fall as they begin their very first season of the ComedySportz Seattle High School League!

ComedySportz® is fast paced, improv comedy played as a sport. Nothing is memorized! The entire performance is improvised and based solely on audience suggestions. The show pits two teams of comedians against each other in a variety of games, in which they compete for audience laughter. The match is hosted by a referee that gets suggestions, calls penalties, and awards points throughout the match.

The ComedySportz High School League® is the largest, most successful improv training program for high school age students in the country. It empowers students to create their own theater and nourishes their communication skills through improvisational workshops and performances. It encourages individuality and provides a forum to succeed or fail in a safe environment that combines showmanship with sportsmanship. All this learning and growth, while laughing the entire time! All of our shows are clean and for all ages.

Every Thursday night for 12 weeks starting on October 13th, high school and homeschool students from all around the Seattle area will come together to The Atlas Theater in Fremont to learn the basics of improvisational comedy. All of this is done through the use of hilarious ComedySportz games and exercises. Meet new, funny people. Learn to be spontaneous. Strengthen your acting and speaking skills. Improve your confidence. And most importantly, laugh and have a lot of fun!

Then Saturday afternoons, starting on January 21st, you’ll have a chance to showcase your comedy skills in your own ComedySportz matches performed at the Atlas Theater! Invite your family and friends as you compete against other teams, playing a variety of ComedySportz games for live audiences. Guaranteed fun for everyone!

A free introductory practice will be held on October 1st, 2pm to 4pm at The Atlas Theater located at 3509 Fremont Ave. N, Seattle 98103. No registration necessary. Regular practices will be held for 12 weeks Thursday nights 5:30pm to 7:30pm beginning October 13th. (Not including holiday breaks.) ComedySportz matches will be Saturday afternoons, 2pm to 6pm, starting on January 21st through April.
