Families Inspiring Leaders Academy FILA

Our school is a community of homeschooling families which supports agency-based, liberal arts education and helps parents and students explore their potential in a nurturing and inspiring atmosphere. We follow the philosophy of Thomas Jefferson Education (TJEd) promoting the Five Pillars of Statesmanship (Classics, Mentors, Simulations, Field Experience, and God). We are a Christ-centered school that respects each family’s core beliefs. FILA honors each individual as the steward of their own education and seeks to support, not replace, the family as the center of learning.

P.A.T.C.H. Co-op (Pierce and Thurston Community Homeschoolers Co-op)

PATCH is an inclusive homeschool group where each member’s beliefs and racial and cultural background are respected and valued at all of our activities and in all our gatherings. We seek to encourage a close-knit, active group by offering weekly co-op classes, field trips, and other opportunities for homeschooling families, in order to create lasting and supportive relationships. Because PATCH strives to minimize the cost of classes and activities, we rely on the volunteer efforts of our members who serve in administrative, teaching, and auxiliary roles. We aspire to establish and foster an effective relationship between military and civilian homeschoolers with the goal of helping current and incoming JBLM homeschooling families find timely and easily-accessed homeschool support in the larger community.
